Hangry Farmersaurus-Rex-- Final Release!

Image
We are ecstatic to announce that we have met our goal— Hangry Farmersaurus-Rex is complete!     We’re proud to say that we overshot our goal by only one day—a good deal better that where we started with our first project, which we were on track to overshoot by several months. We definitely improved in our ability to measure scope and schedule, and it has been invaluable to be able to hold ourselves accountable for our goal.      We’ve loved going through your feedback this last week, making a list for improvements, and watching the game take shape. Huge ‘thank you!’ to those who played the first release and gave us your gems. (If you care to read the credits, you'll find that we've included you. You are invaluable!)      We’ve added a lot of your suggestions, as well as a few ideas of our own, such as: sound and music, additional animals, the level environment, animations, more responsive turns from the player pers...

Project "Farm-Eating Game" Announcement - Alpha Version Released!!

Image
Project "Farm-Eating Game" You're the T-Rex, and you gotta eat 'em all! I won't keep you reading long, but hopefully you will take a good amount of time to play our project, observe and examine your experience, and let us know juicy deets afterwards. It'll be much appreciated! In our last blog post, we said we'd be working on "MVP" projects, creating games at their minimum with a bit of polish, and get them done within a month and move on. On August 7th, we came up with a list of simple but fun game ideas, narrowed down our favourites, and went with the first on our list. We then planned out how we were going create it, keeping time and project management in mind, and then we set off running. Our deadline is  Sunday September 10th , so we've only got just over a week! On that day, we're dropping whatever we've got and moving onto the next thing - after a short break, debrief, and planning for the next project of cours...

What's Gong On? -An Update

Hello again! It's been ages since our last post, and we've been through a lot and almost nothing at the same time. The last anyone heard anything from Puddygum was that we had started creating a block game (named "Block Project" at the time) and we held a fundraiser for recording equipment. This got us the equipment we needed, which was a big step. (Thanks to everyone who participated-- you're the BEST). Once we had the needed equipment, Devon Stern and I got down to business on trying to figure out how we could make this game everything it could be. We threw all kinds of awesome ideas at it.  We had group discussions about story ideas, I googled reference images and created 3D level prototypes for the different areas of the game. We created music and even got another ambitious composer-- Kade Donovan-- on board to help with that. Devon mashed the keyboard with his programming powers until his brain fell apart. We were working hard , and that felt amaz...

Building Blocks

How fitting that our first project begins with building blocks! We are building from the ground up. Here is a sneak peek of one of the level prototypes for our little 'Building Blocks' project. How many ways can you use building blocks to make your journey?

Welcome to Puddygum! (We make cool stuff.)

Welcome to our temporary page! Updates will be posted here until our official page (puddygum.com) is officially up and running. Many of you might be wondering: what, exactly, is Puddygum? Allow me to enlighten you. Puddygum is a small community of game and web developers dedicated to bringing wholesome, positive material to the gaming industry. In a world of violence-centered media, vacant of stories or morals, Puddygum Studios founders are on a search for goodness. We are a group of 3D nerds, keyboard smashers, and noisemakers who share one all-encompassing goal: bring the positive power of media back to the gaming industry. We believe that gaming technology, like all other technology, has enormous potential for good. Through our mixed backgrounds, each of us has had experiences through games that have motivated us to become better, stronger people. We hope to broaden the potential for such experiences in the gaming world. Please join us on our journey! We will definitely need your he...
